Oslo Open Go Tournament 2016

Oslo Go Club welcomes everyone to the Oslo Open Go Tournament 2016, the weekend 23rd and 24th of April. The tournament is open for everyone.

This year we’re lucky enough to have Guo Juan, a Chinese professional now living in Europe and creator of the amazing Internet Go School, coming to the tournament to provide us with game reviews between the rounds and a lecture on Friday and Saturday evening.

Tournament information

Tournament system: 5 rounds MacMahon
Rule system: EGF rules with 6 1/2 komi
Playing time: 45 minutes, then Canadian byo-yomi with 15 moves in 5 minutes (EGF B class tournament)

Tournament fee, normal: 200 NOK
Tournament fee, students and retirees: 100 NOK
Tournament fee, players below 15 years of age or first tournament: Free

Schedule

Friday April 22nd
18:00–20:00 Lecture with Guo Juan. Preliminary plan is to have two main parts with questions between, but this will be adjusted according to the level of the participants. Players of all levels are welcome!

Saturday April 23rd
09:30 Registration
10:00 Round 1
13:00 Round 2
15:30 Round 3
18:00 Dinner, we’ll order pizza (not included in tournament fee, but usually 100 NOK per person)
19:00 Guo Juan Lecture

Sunday April 24th
10:00 Round 4
12:30 Round 5
15:00 Closing ceremony

Location

The tournament will take place at Ole-Johan Dahls hus located at Gaustadalleen 23.

We will try to offer private accommodation to everyone who wants this.
